REFLECTION
Noontime prayer for tourists
a spiritual moment on the way

Since ‘Antwerp, European Capital of Culture 1993’, TOPA wants to invite visitors to the Our Lady’s CathedralThe main church of a diocese, where the bishop’s seat is. of Antwerp at noon for a spiritual moment of rest on their trail. (thanks to Mr. Hedwig Mels).
Maybe an inspiration to use them also in your church?

INVITATION
Dear visitors,
In a few moments we have a short time of prayer.
Everyone is most welcome here in the centre of the church.

MEDITATION
Dear visitors,
Absorbed by tourist commotion and sightseeing,
in this haste of time,
we want to be silent for a short while to say a prayer.
Our words and thoughts will join
the constant stream of prayers,
which for ages,
in this memorable place,
have been continuously turned to God, who said:
“I am the Light of the world”.
May we especially in this gothic architecture
open ourselves to His gentle Light: His love, His wisdom.
INTERCESSIONS
Let us pray for ourselves who are on our way.
Let us pray also for all those whom we meet today,
that they will not remain strangers to us,
but become real brothers and sisters.
Let us pray for all those who are close to us
but stay at home: our families, our friends.
Let us also pray for those who are forced to leave their homes
because of war, because of hunger
Let us pray for those who suffer.
OUR FATHERPriest who is a member of a religious order.
Therefore we will pray altogether to God ‘Our Father’.

Our Father,
who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
BLESSING
We wish you a pleasant stay in our town
and a safe journey home.
Et benedicat vos omnipotens Deus:
+ Pater,
et Filius,
et Spiritus Sanctus.
AMEN.
Go in Peace
